How To Improve The Aptitude To Remember Information And Overcome Test Anxiety

If you are a student who is trying to improve your grades, there are a number of methods that will help you to boost your facility to focus your concentration, retain the materials that you study, and bring it back to consciousness during an exam without being subjected to mental blocks or a test phobia. Here are the best ways that I know to establish good learning behaviors:

(1) Establish an environment for learning and study only in that place! Locate a quiet room that will facilitate a focusing of attention without distractions. Some possible examples would be a library, a vacant classroom, or your home office. You want to establish the custom of studying when you are in this place. So it is best to not use this place for other activities like daydreaming, watching TV, or playing music, etc.

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR STUDY PLACE HAS:

(a) A comfy seat, but not excessively comfy

(b) Your desk

(c) Excellent light

(d) Proper air flow

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR STUDY PLACE DOESN'T HAVE:

(a) Views that will distract you

(b) A telephone

(c) Distracting music

(d) A large screen television set

(e) A companion who talks too much

(f) A refrigerator filled with sweets

(2) Split your work into small, short-range components.

(a) Set up small specific projects like, "I am going to study my history from 2 PM to 3 PM. Otherwise you will set yourself up to fall short.

(b) Set a accessible homework goal for the period of time you've set aside. For example: finish reading chapter twelve in my history text, or complete an initial draft of my English paper, etc. Set your goal when you you are ready to study but before you actually begin. Set reachable goals. You may possibly do more than reach your goal, but set a realistic goal even if it seems way too easy.

(3) Test Phobias

(a) Some students mostly experience physical symptoms, like nausea, feeling hot or cold, headaches, or faintness, etc.

(b) Other students experience mostly emotional symptoms, like feeling irritable, crying, or getting frustrated quickly.

(c) The main difficulty with anxiousness is that it can cause one to have a memory block. Or it could trigger thoughts that are racing out of control.

(d) Although you may currently experience some level of anxiousness when taking exams, you can learn to greatly diminish that anxiety, or even completely eliminate it!

(e) Anxiety and the resultant stress are by and large the main causes of a lack of ability to focus your attention. Stress can also trigger a mental block when you try to remember information.

(f) Hypnosis CD's can be utilized to relax your mind and focus your concentration. As your mind calms down, your ability to stay focused will increase. Similarly, a calm mind enhances your ability to retain information, and recall it when it is needed.

(g) Hypnotherapy CD's can be utilized to program your mind for the positive expectation of tranquility and the ability to bring back to mind the information during an exam. This is valuable for reducing or eliminating test anxiety. (h) There are a number of hypnotherapy methods that can promptly get rid of a test phobia!
